Filming an American football game with a 2 person crew.

In February 2020, I was asked to go along with one other classmate to a local American football game. Our task was to capture as much of the game as possible in order to have enough coverage for a ‘highlights’ edit video. This great experience require quick thinking as well as quick camera skills. With a crew of only 2, a game-plan was required as we could only cover so much ground at a time.

The shoot went on for about 6 hours. Getting B-roll clips of training, pictures such as the one above and and changing room interviews for a larger scale project took a long time. The game lasted for an intense 3 hours. Me and the other student on the shoot were constantly running up and down the pitch capturing shots from as many angles as possible.

The experience was great, largely because this is a shooting style I really enjoy, but also because of the great final cut result that was sent to us about a week later. Watch it here:
