Film

Here is an overview of film projects. Completed for college assignments, paid job roles and personal use.

Remain Seated – Short Film

‘Remain Seated’ – my latest short film project that is currently running through some film festival competitions. My biggest project to date – a 25-minute short that looks at the big question: How far would you go for your children?

CRAZY – Music Video

This music video was a challenge I set for myself and a friend. To shoot an entire music video in a single take, walking down the high street of Oxford, UK. We had one day with the light we wanted and thus shot 29 takes before nailing the final shot.

DRIP – Experimental Short Film

‘DRIP’ is an experimental thriller film created in a single night.

The James Model – Short film

‘The James Model’ is a short, artificial-intelligence based film that works to explore the possibilites of our future. James works for ARCA, an AI development company who are not as honest as James may think.

Come Back – A solo-made microfilm

https://youtu.be/ZcOP71_BcAE

‘Come back’ is an example of how to tell a short story in film, completely by yourself. This short was filmed in 2 days and completed entirely within a week. Flexing my creative skills and storytelling ability was the aim here. I wanted it to be quick from idea to final cut, and it was.

Dear Miss Aria Hampton – Short film

https://youtu.be/PeHT8GNP1BE

‘Dear Miss Aria Hampton’ is a short film I made for my final assignment at college. This short was my first real attempt at crew/talent driven filmmaking. It was a big step forward in my creative ability and provided me with the tools to build future projects.

Curious – an experimental microfilm

Curious is the result of boredom setting in whilst in lockdown, on my own. In just a few short hours I created a fun microfilm that was even more fun to make! To every aspiring filmmaker – it is the repition of small things like this that lead to the bigger stuff. Enjoy making little films in your bedroom as much as possible.

Oxford Christmas Lights festival 2019

This project was work experience completed by small crews of students. The shoot was guerrilla style as we took cameras and equipment into the festival and captured as much as possible in certain time frames. As we had no control over the festival, we had to utilise time management and organisation to get the shots required as different events took place around the festival. I directed my crew of 4 by understanding the timetable of events and splitting the crew into pairs or lone members to capture the shots we needed at certain times.

The edit brief was simple; keep the cut under a minute, use both given logos in the cut and do not infringe upon copyright regulations. The final edit above is the result of our crew’s shooting and my individual editing.

The think book

One of my biggest inspirations in filmmaking, and life in general, is Mr Casey Neistat. Casey is a filmmaker and online video pioneer with an immense internet following. His raw style of filmmaking, and stripped back method of conveying a message through this visual medium is incredibly unique. Taking direct inspiration from Casey’s videos – I made this 3 minute short film about a little yellow book. One that helped me out a lot.

Short film scene – college assignment

This short scene was a recreation of a scene we were given the script for. We were told to adapt it into whatever story we believed was fit for the script and this is what me and the crew came up with.
